Created as part of the Whispers of the South exhibit, Togetherness began as a community-centered piece. During the event, visitors and collectors were invited to participate in an intention-setting activity: writing messages of encouragement, hope, and gratitude directly onto the canvas. These heartfelt notes now live beneath the surface of the painting, forming the luminous foundation that gives depth and warmth to the final composition.
The imagery came to me effortlessly, like a gentle whisper waiting to be painted: an idyllic marsh bathed in the soft glow of sunset, where golden light meets calm waters and delicate blooms reach upward.
On the back, I’ve signed both my name and “Spring for Art 2025” a small tribute to the beautiful community of Covington that helped bring this piece to life.
Togetherness is more than a painting; it’s a reflection of collective spirit and the quiet power of connection.
